Overview

The Department of Agriculture Science, IES University Bhopal has introduced a four year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree course.

The course has an intake of 300 students. The course aims at meeting the requirements of emerging needs of agriculture in the country. Emphasis is laid on not only on imparting theoretical knowledge but also to train the candidates in practical aspects though extensive field work and visit to research institutions etc.

The university has well equipped laboratories, lecture rooms, well stocked library with books, reference books and journals and access to e-journals etc.

Department also has excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. The students get an opportunity to get in-depth knowledge about latest advances in the field of agriculture, disease resistant crops, insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers etc.

To emerge as a centre of excellence inagricultural education, research, and innovation by integrating traditionalwisdom with modern technology, nurturing professionals and entrepreneurs toensure food security, environmental sustainability, and rural prosperity in aglobal society

Mission

1. To impartmultidisciplinary and experiential agricultural education that fostersscientific temperament, critical thinking, and hands-on competence throughteaching, research, and extension activities.
2. To promoteinnovation, agri-entrepreneurship, and sustainable farming systems byintegrating modern technologies with indigenous knowledge for addressingclimate change, food security, and livelihood challenges.
3. To empower rural andtribal communities through inclusive outreach programs, capacity-buildinginitiatives, and student engagement in field-based learning such as RAWE (RuralAgricultural Work Experience) and internships.
4. To strengthenresearch and global collaborations in emerging fields like biotechnology,natural farming, agribusiness management, AI in agriculture, and precisionfarming to build resilient agri-food systems.
5. To instil ethics,social responsibility, and leadership qualities among students, preparing them ascatalysts for sustainable agricultural transformation at local, national, andinternational levels.

Program Educational Objectives

Graduates of the program will  accommodate insightful information of Agriculture principles necessary for     the applications of Agriculture.

Graduates of the program will  acquire knowledge of recent trends in technology and solve problem in     industry and farmers.

Graduates of the program will  have practical experience and interpersonal skills to work both in local  and international environments.

Graduates of the program will  possess creative professionalism, understand their ethical responsibility  and committed towards society 

Program outcomes

PO1: Critical Thinking: Take informedactions after identifying the assumptions that frame our thinking and actions,check out the degree to which these assumptions are accurate and valid, andlook at our ideas and decisions (intellectual, organizational, and personal)from different perspectives.
